Let’s talk numbers
I know how frustrating it can be when a website gives you no indication of price at all. Before you get in touch, it’s useful to know whether live music is likely to fit within your wedding budget.
At the same time, no two weddings are quite the same. The length of the performance, the part of the day you’d like music for, the location and any special song requests can all affect the final price. Rather than forcing everything into rigid bronze, silver and gold packages, I prefer to keep things flexible and tailor the music to your day.
That said, I also want to be completely transparent about what you can expect to spend. So here’s a guide to my pricing.
What you can expect
Most couples invest between £900 and £1,800 for live music on their wedding day, although more extensive bookings can be a little higher. The final price depends on how much of the day you’d like me to be part of, where your wedding is taking place and any particular songs or arrangements you’d like me to prepare.
As a rough guide:
From £795–£900 for one part of the day, such as your ceremony or drinks reception.
Around £1,100–£1,400 for a combination such as your ceremony and drinks reception.
Around £1,400–£1,800 for music across several parts of the day, such as the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
From around £1,800 for a more extensive booking taking you from the ceremony through to the early evening, potentially including a live first dance and an upbeat evening set.
These aren’t rigid packages. They’re simply there to give you a realistic idea of budget before you enquire. Once I know a little more about your plans, I can put together a quote based around your day.
What shapes the price
How much of your day you’d like live music for. This might be one part of the wedding, or music at several different points throughout the day.
Timings. Two weddings requiring the same amount of actual performance time can be quite different if one involves being at the venue for three hours and another for eight.
Travel. I perform at weddings throughout the UK and further afield, so travel and, where necessary, accommodation will be factored into the quote.
Your songs. If there are particular songs that mean something to you, I’m happy to learn and create acoustic arrangements of them especially for your wedding.
My performances are built around live vocals and acoustic guitar, but the sound can be much fuller than a traditional solo acoustic set. Depending on the song, I also use foot percussion, harmonica, vocal harmonies and subtle bass-style accompaniment created from the lower strings of the guitar. It means I can keep things intimate and stripped back when the moment calls for it, but also build a richer, more rhythmic sound for drinks receptions and evening sets.
I don't provide a DJ service, although background playlists can be played through my PA between live sets where appropriate and I’m very happy to work alongside other entertainment you’ve booked for the day.
